Assault on the Nerian Nexus (Episodes 8-11) PL 10

Ten years later we rejoined the Liberty League, who had grown up on their own paths. Death Gate spent some time as an anti-hero named Mortis in Ferroburg before settling down in Freedom City as a janitor for a local high school. Overdrive stayed a superhero but went West to Emerald City and beyond before taking a job at New Horizon Media back in Freedom. Resonant opened a bookstore/massage and Reiki healing center. Darkstar took the name Nova and joined the Freedom League.

One fateful day, each of our heroes received a warning from the distressed spirit of Seven that the Nerian Nexus (the now vacant sanctum of Earth-Prime’s Master Mage) was under attack by several unaffiliated villains. Mortis, Overdrive, and Resonant raced over for a tense reunion. They were joined by the Freedom Leaguer Centuria and together they stormed the Nexus.

While inside, they faced Devil Ray and Dracula (who was one-shotted by Centuria and will never forget it) and became trapped in a hall of mirrors somewhere within the fabric of reality. Each of them saw flashes of the future and hints that there might be more to them than they ever imagined. They were eventually set free when they struck a bargain with a creature calling itself Glimpse. Glimpse let them back into the Nexus and gave each of them a Possibility Shard: a piece of mirror that grants its user the ability to change themselves by scouring the multiverse for a suitable replacement.

After leaving Glimpse, they fought Tom Cypress and Medea in the Nexus’ observatory. The group prevented Medea from taking the Alternity Atlas, an artifact that allows its owner to teleport just about anywhere. After the fight, a man known as Warden arrived and took the villains into custody. They also found a terrifying teddy bear at the scene. After freeing the Nexus and meeting its caretaker, Sallah, the group became the new masters of the house and agreed to keep working together for the moment.
