Tales of the Finest Player Characters

Cael Pelora, Human Cleric

May 1, 2021 //  by USPadmin

Cael Pelora, Human Cleric (He/Him)

(played by Will)

All Envoy trainees are sponsored by a senior envoy. Who sponsored me and why?

Glynn Fergus is a traveling monk who witnessed my exposure to divine magic while fleeing from Shadow. Impressed by my ability to survive and use magic without training, he wanted to provide me education/opportunity to better the world. He believes my story that I see Hiathas, and thinks that furthering my training may prove worthy to the Sovereign’s Finest.

What is your relationship with your sponsor like?

Glynn is one of the few people who believe my story about Hiathas. Having moved from Jarzon to begin as an envoy, Glynn was one of the only people I knew. As a result, I have a strong connection to Glynn-relying on him to understand the people/culture. Over the last three years, I have become more independent as I try to make new friends. While I only see him occasionally to check in, I see him as family (who I’d fiercely defend).

Why did you decide to join the Sovereign’s Finest?

I’ve seen the Shadow, but I’ve also seen the Light – Hiathas is my friend/love-interest and helps advise me in making decisions. His council, and Glynn’s sponsorship, led me to the Sovereign’s Finest. I’m hoping to make the world a better place, and make some friends along the way.

What is your relationship like with other envoys in your circle?

I like everybody that I’ve ever met. I’m introverted, awkward, and don’t always know how others view me. At my worst, I sometimes try too hard to make people like me.

I like plants- and have a green thumb. When I’m not in class, I may be found in a greenhouse. I’m also fascinated by weather phenomenon (rainbows, windstorms, etc.) and chase storms when I have free time.

Uula Brinerunner, Sea Folk Barbarian

May 1, 2021 //  by USPadmin

Uula Brinerunner, Sea Folk Barbarian (She/Her)

(played by Brian)

All Envoy trainees are sponsored by a senior envoy Who sponsored you and why?

Another Sea folk named Ray Nauticus. He’s an old navy buddy of my Father who now works for the Coast Guard in Aldis. He’s sponsoring me as a favor to my dad.

What is your relationship with your sponsor like?

Very professional, I didn’t see him often growing up. Almost like an estranged uncle who I’m reconnecting with.

Why did you decide to join the Sovereign’s Finest?

It’s Family tradition, everyone on my dad’s side has joined.

What is your relationship like with the other envoys in your circle?

Uula Loves competition and pushing her own limits. She can be a bit of a stick in the mud when it comes to academic related issues. Sometimes she can have a bit of a temper. Being generally open to anyone who’s willing to contribute to her goals.

What activity does your envoy like to do in downtime?

Uula enjoys playing sports, baking , and hiking. She goes to music lounges on the weekend to unwind.

Vahm Bandhma, Night Person Fighter

May 1, 2021 //  by USPadmin

Vahm Bandhma, Night Person Fighter (He/Him)

(played by Andy (No-Not-That-One))

All Envoy trainees are sponsored by a senior envoy—who sponsored you, and why?

He what witnessed an adolescent me pummeling the absolute stupid out ‘f a pair of guardsmen what was hassling an innocent child—who turned out to be neither child nor innocent, to me unbridled horror. Anyway, when the legal dust cleared, he correctly ascertained that while me intentions’d been good, if left ta me own devices I’d be a bit of a menace—whereas with a touch of focus I’d make a stonkin’ great little Protector.

What is your relationship with your sponsor like?

Stern Mentor/Pupil, with a touch of Adopted Father figure. Kind, but demandin’.

Why did you decided to join the Sovereign’s Finest?

Let’s face it, I was never not gonna be fightin’. At least as an Envoy I know I’m fighting the right people.

What is your relationship like with the other envoys in your circle?

Dunno yet.

What activity does your envoy like to do in downtime?

I likes ta drink, and fight—boxin’, wrastlin’, that kinda thing, all cameraderie-like—ya know, generally make merry. I likes ta sing, and shout it out wi’ mates old and new. I likes ta fall in love. I does it recreationally. We naught stays in love but a night or two, but I remembers ev’ry one of ’em fond as ya please. Damned sure hope as they remembers me the samelike, y’know?

Drake, Rhy-Raccoon Rogue

May 1, 2021 //  by USPadmin

Drake, Rhy-Raccoon Rogue (He/Him)

(played by Alex)

(a) All Envoy trainees are sponsored by a senior envoy*, who sponsored you and why?

– Terrin the Old, an envoy nearing retirement. Terrin was once a powerful warrior but in his old age he has taken to fulltime envoy recruitment. He makes a habit of searching in the most unexpected places for potential envoys. In Drake’s case, Terrin found him doing community service. Drake was arrested for theft and sentenced to a year of community service. Terrin offered Drake a position in the Sovereign’s Finest as an alternative to this community service.

(b) What is your relationship with your sponsor like?

-Drake sees Terrin as a kindly old man who has given him a second chance. Being unused to kindness, Drake is suspicious of Terrin’s motives for taking pity on a thief. Terrin for his part, knows that the envoys who have suffered the most have the kindest hearts.

(c) Why did you decided to join the Sovereign’s Finest?

-Drake joined for twofold reasons. One he figured it would be much more exciting than digging ditches for a year. Two the job he was arrested for resulted in the Silence losing out on an object of great power. Drake thought he was stealing some art piece, but it turns out they wanted some shas crystal device (I’d like to leave this up to Jonesy) When he realized it was dangerous, Drake let himself and his Silence appointed babysitter get caught. The Silence is definitely seeking revenge, so the Sovereign’s Finest are the safest place for Drake.

(d) What is your relationship like with the other envoys in your circle?

-Drake is sociable and friendly. He likes cracking jokes and teaching people how to gamble and carouse. This is partially an act, because he’s been a loner most of his life and tries to deflect close bonds with comedy and deflection.

(e) What activity does your envoy like to do in downtime?

-Drake is a gourmand and a gambler. He is constantly on the look out for new recipes, rare ingredients, and dice games that he can get into.

Teezra Vasker, Vata’sha Warlock

May 1, 2021 //  by USPadmin

Teezra Vasker, Vata’sha Warlock (They/Them)

(played by Aaron)

Teezra was one of two twin children born in a small town in Kern. Although Teezra was born a Vata’shan, they have a twin sister, Olean, who was born human. Their parents hid Teezra’s existence, allowing Olean to leave the house and publicly be their only child while they planned to smuggle the family south to Aldis. Teezra instead grew up believing that everyone represented a threat, hiding whenever anyone came to the door, and went their entire early life never speaking to anyone other than their parents or Olean.

When Teezra and Olean were twelve, they made their move, attempting to take the children to Aldis, when things went wrong. The family was found or betrayed, Teezra doesn’t know which, and the Lich King’s men found them, giving chase as they neared the border.

Teezra was separated from their family, but not before they saw their sister get snatched by the Lich King’s men, and their parents be cut down.

Lost, frightened, and angry, Teezra made their way into Aldis, eventually being taken to the City of Aldis. As a refugee and an orphan, Teezra was cared for, but they were bitter, angry, and sullen. They don’t know why Martenn chose to take an interest in them, but it changed their life. Although Vata’an, Marten was able to show Teezra that they could be accepted in Aldis. Indeed, not just accepted, but loved – and other people were not all threatening. People had interests, things they did beyond working and trying to survive. Martenn taught Teezra to appreciate art, to listen to music, to find friends and lovers. It was Martenn’s work with the Finest that inspired Teezra – this place was so different from Kern, and the people were so full of life – that Teezra fell in love with the entire country.

Teezra has had lovers, but there is no one person they could love more than they love everyone, so they have never had a serious, committed lover.
